Level up your ICT skills.

Introduction

Coding.bn is a learning programme to train youth jobseekers with the necessary in-demand programming skills so they are more employable and industry-ready. It also aims to tackle the issue on unemployment in Brunei Darussalam. It is a six-month programme initiated by AITI, where it was officially launched by Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister of Energy and Chairman of AITI on 12 March 2021.

Objectives

Train and mentor

participants by sharpening their programming skills as well as equip them with industry-ready skills.

Increase

chances of employment for the participants especially in the field of programming.

Facilitate

the upskilling of participants with industry competencies based on the demand and requirements of potential hosting/hiring entities.

Who can apply?

Citizen or permanent resident of Brunei Darussalam.

Currently unemployed.

Minimum qualification of High National Diploma (HND) in ICT-related field.

Aged between 18 to 35 years old at the time of registration.

Programme Content

Participants will undergo three months of full-time classes followed by three months of on-the-job training with continuous mentorship throughout the whole duration. 

Participants will learn technical competencies particularly on front-end and back-end programming, as well as other skills such as data analytics and design thinking.  The participants will also be exposed to various types of programming languages based on the industry demands, as well as real life ICT projects during on-the-job training at respective host entities. 

At the end of the programme, participants are expected to gain intermediate level of skills in the identified programming languages and to continue working with host companies upon job offers.

 

Host Organisations

AITI also welcomes any ICT companies or other organisations who are interested to become the hosting entity or potential hiring entity for the Coding.bn participants.

 

Openings

Cohort 1 was completed on 30 September 2021. AITI intends to open registration for the second intake (Cohort 2) tentatively in November 2022.
