Dealer Licences are required for any establishment/vendor/individuals who wishes to import, sell, supply and/or resale, manufacture or rent out telecommunications and/or radiocommunications equipment to any customers in Brunei Darussalam.

There are three types of Dealer licences. The type of licence is based on the type of equipment that is intended to be imported, sell, supply and/or resale, manufacture or rent out.

Dealer Telecommunication Equipment (DTQ)

For any establishment/vendor/individual who wishes to import, sell, supply and/or resale, manufacture or rent out line terminal equipment e.g. Home telephone, fax, wired modem, etc.

Dealer Radiocommunication Equipment (DRQ)

For any establishment/vendor/individual who wishes to import, sell, supply and/or resale, manufacture or rent out wireless equipment e.g. bluetooth devices, wireless devices, walkie-talkie, etc.

Dealer Satellite Equipment (DSQ)

For any establishment/vendor/individual who wishes to import, sell, supply and/or resale, manufacture or rent out satellite equipment.

Application Process

Applicant submits complete online application form using registered company account

AITI processes the application

DRQ and DTQ applications will be processed within 5 working days.

DSQ applications will be processed in 2 months.

Applicant will be notified if the application is approved or rejected

Successful applicant makes payment

Dealer licence issued

Dealer License Application must be made through AITI Online Services using a registered company account [1] and to submit the application with the following documents:

Public / Private Limited Company (SDN BHD)

Copy of Director(s)'s Identity Card / Passport
Copy of Form X
Copy of Memorandum of Association*
Copy of Notice of Situation of Registered Office
Copy of Certificate of Incorporation
Scanned and Signed Terms and Conditions form

Sole Proprietor / Partnership (ENTERPRISE)

Copy of Director's Identity Card / Passport
Copy of 16/17 Business Certificate (Includes Code 46/47/61)*
Scanned and Signed Terms and Conditions form

*Nature of business must include the description "to import/sell/supply of telecommunications/radiocommunications equipment".

Foreign entities who wish to apply for a Dealer Licence are advised to appoint a local agent (or incorporate a local branch in the case of a private or public limited company). The local agent and/or branch will then be subject to the normal application process.

*Renewal of Dealer Licence must be applied before the expiry date. Renewal notifications on the expiry of Licence will be sent to the licensee through their online accounts' notifications at the AITI Online Service and email at least two (2) months before the expiry date of the licence.
